God is up to something!

After writing my last post about Borders closing, I moped around for a couple of hours, wondering what I was going to do, now.  No more "I'm running up to Borders."  It was a real pity party until I heard God's small, still voice inside me whisper a scripture...

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18-19

At once I felt a little tickle of excitement rising up inside.  I love it when God is up to something new in my life! I don't know what it is and I'm sure it will mean that He has to sand off a few more of my rough edges, but I'm in!

That was Sunday - the past couple of days have been fun.  I've had this air of expectancy and joy about me and a heightened awareness of God working in my life.  What could be better than that???

Bring it on, God - I'm ready!

  1. Amen! What a cool and very timely post! And remember, what gets taken away from us was never meant to be in our destiny. God works everything out togethe for good Romans 8:28 :o)

  2. You're so right, DUO. I can't wait to see what God has planned for my future, but in the meantime...I'm enjoying my NOW!

  3. How close are you to one of the Paradise Bakerys? They're owned by Panera [or the same company anyway - whatever the parent name is]. No books to read but you know how much work I get done there...

    <3 you!

  4. The only one close is at Arrowhead Mall, but it's in the food court. A walk up, not an individual restaurant. I'll have to find someplace, but not until after next week. Have the boys 3 days next week, then they start back to school.

    Thanks for the suggestion, though.

  5. Hi Jan,
What about Starbucks for coffee and laptop? I even hit McDonald's for laptop and study time. There's always the library ... but no coffee at the same time and that's a bummer. Hope you find your new place. I'm going through the same thing as far as just enjoying the NOW.

  6. Hey, LindaLou! Thanks for dropping by my blog. There are a couple of Starbucks in the area. I'll have to give them a whirl.

Hmmmm - maybe this week can be Starbucks Search Week. I know of at least 3 close to me and I'll bet I can find 2 more fairly close. I'll go to one each day this week to see which one has the best atmosphere and see if I can find my "new place."

    Thanks for the suggestion!
