Once again I close the cover on another Mary Connealy novel, sigh and say…wow!
Today it was Swept Away, book 1 in the Trouble in Texas series.
From the moment the book opens, I’m hooked. Imagine being adopted into a family, being treated as a slave and then facing the prospect of a forced marriage to your creepy adopted brother. (Shudder) It’s almost a relief when Ruthie gets swept away while trying to cross a rushing river in a covered wagon.
Rescued by Luke, a cowboy on his way to settle a score with the man who killed his father and stole his ranch, Ruthie finds herself smack dab in the middle of more danger and a growing attraction to someone who may not live long enough to do anything about it.
Luke has no time for a woman, but he can’t just leave this mud-caked beauty in the middle of nowhere, can he? No, he’ll have to cradle the injured, exhausted red-head in his arms as they ride toward Broken Wheel, Texas to reclaim his father’s ranch. Little does he know that this helpless woman in his arms will be a key player in the fight to regain his home or that she’ll steal his heart along the way.
As always, Mary Connealy creates quirky, fun characters, fast-paced action and weaves the ahh-factor into every page. Don’t start one of her books if you don’t have the time to read it straight through, because you won’t be able to put it down!
Pop over and take a look.

Found a really cool blog tonight - Novel Characters by Molly, who draws characters from books she reads. This post has pictures she's drawn of the main characters from Swept Away - how fun is that!
